วัตถุประสงค์
:
1.To study the nature of the iron complexes at the active site of ZSM-5, mordenite and faujasite catalysts;
2.To study the roles of -oxygen at the active sites in catalyzing of the oxidative dehydrogenation reactions;
3.To investigate the elementary steps of the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane to ethylene (eq. 1);
4.To investigate the elementary steps of the hydroxylation of ethane to ethanol (eq. 2) which is the side reaction;
5.To study the effects of the zeolite framework (ZSM-5, mordenite and faujasite) on the reaction mechanisms of each elementary reaction steps;
6.To calculate the activation energy from all elementary step for predicting the rate-determining step;
7.To calculate the kinetic parameter of the rate determining step for providing the ratio of rate constant (k) between major and minor products as well as for predicting the product contributions.
8.To predict the effects may reduce the activation energy in rate-determining step for the purpose of increasing the ethylene (desired product) formation.
