วัตถุประสงค์
:
This study aims to investigate the existence of oxytocin/ vasopressin-like mRNA in the blue crab (Portunus pelagicus), with the distribution of its mRNA, the correlation between its level and ovarian steroid, and its role on the egg laying behavior.
Specific objectives
1. To characterize the oxytocin/ vasopressin-like mRNA in the central nervous system (CNS) of the female blue crab by transcriptome analysis and molecular cloning;
2. To demonstrate the distribution of oxytocin/ vasopressin-like mRNA in the central nervous system, and peripheral tissues by the in situ hybridization and RT-PCR;
3. To clarify the effect of synthetic oxytocin/ vasopressin-like nonapeptide on steroidogenesis of cultured ovary by in vitro bioassay.
