วัตถุประสงค์
:
1. To clarify the prebiotic effect of DFO on concentrations of SCFAs and the microbial population of mouse cecum.
2. To investigate the effects of prebiotic DFO on the proximal colonic contraction and distal colonic pellet propulsion using both in vivo and in vitro experiments.
3. To compare the effects of prebiotic DFO, positive control of prebiotic fructo-oligosaccharide (FOS), probiotic bifidobacteria, and SCFA butyrate on colonic motility.
4. To elucidate the underlying mechanisms of the DFO action on colonic motility by removing colonic microbiota using in vitro experiment.
