The objective of this project is to address the following philosophical and cultural
issues which are basic to both a better understanding of peacebuilding and a clearer picture of how to put this understanding into practice (the study of each of these issues is a sub-project of the overall project):
- Peacebuilding as a philosophical and cultural enterprise.
- The limitations of the Social Sciences in the study of peace.
- The cultural dimension of peacebuilding.
- Epistemological problems faced by peacebuilding.
- The role of metaphysics (e.g. views on what it is to "be human") in peacebuilding efforts.
